Sunrise over the Pacific behind Tranquillo B&B, Taitung

The Pacific in front. Mountains behind.

A four-room guesthouse on Highway 11, Taitung · Breakfast included · From NT$3,800 (approx. US$120) a night

Tranquillo B&B (日日閒) sits on the Pacific coast of Taitung County, on Highway 11 just outside Chenggong Township — the quiet, rural stretch of Taiwan’s east coast that most visitors drive straight past.

There are four rooms. Every one of them looks out over the Pacific Ocean at the front and the Coastal Mountain Range at the back. There is no traffic noise here — at night you hear insects, and the sea. On a clear night the Milky Way is visible from the balcony with the naked eye.

We grow vegetables and fruit on the property, cook breakfast for our guests every morning, and otherwise leave you alone to do very little. That is rather the point. Ri Ri Xian — our Chinese name — means roughly “an unhurried day, every day.”

Booking & enquiries

We speak English. Write to us in English by email or LINE and we will answer in English.

Please note: an enquiry is not a confirmed booking. We will reply with availability and payment details — your room is confirmed once we have written back to you.

When you write, it helps to tell us: your arrival and departure dates, how many people, and whether you would like a particular room.

Finding us

We are about an hour north of Taitung city along the coast road. Getting here takes a little planning — Taiwan’s east coast has very little public transport, and most guests rent a car.
